Desolenator creates clean drinking water at scale through a fully renewably-powered technology. We use solar power in a novel way – harnessing the thermal and electrical energy to distil complex water sources in an integrated device. At scale, we use heated water from a photovoltaic thermal (PV-T) array to produce distilled water using our patented technology. Desolenator's plant model is modular, and thus our output can be tailored to meet the needs of a variety of projects.
Desolenator creates pure water (Total Dissolved Solids of <2ppm) from sources including seawater, water with heavy metal contaminants (fluoride, arsenic) and microbiological contamination (viruses, bacteria). Our distillation process also enables Desolenator to adapt to increasing complexities (such as salinity) without upgrades, whilst other technologies are rendered obsolete when input water type changes. Overall, our water desalination process requires little to no consumables, and demonstrates clear advantages on purity, process and price over lifespan.
