Q1 ‘21 was a record-breaking period for Turkey as total VC funding in this quarter alone surpassed funding raised in 2020 by 68%. Turkey amassed the largest VC funding by far across all EVM countries. 

• The number of deals in Q1 ‘21 rose by 81% when compared to Q1 ‘20. 

• In terms of capital allocation, the top 5 deals alone represented 84% of all funding deployed in Q1 ‘21. 

• Every fifth dollar invested in Turkish startups went into the Gaming industry. Four of the top 10 deals in this quarter were made into Gaming.

• Delivery & Logistics topped the ranking by the amount invested, with almost all of it raised by Getir.
