Industries: Analysis of total funding and number of deals in all 28 industries in MENA in both 2018 and 2019, including percentage and rank changes. This is 23 more industries than the summary. Moreover, it provides a deep-dive into 3 specific industries: the FinTech, E-Commerce, and Delivery & Transport. In these deep-dives, only available in this report, we analyse the 5-year funding and deal evolution, a funding stage evolution, as well as top countries, investors and funding rounds in each of the industries.
Investors: A deep-dive into investors in MENA-based startups. The most active investors are ranked, but unlike the summary, these investors are broken down by the most active ones by funding stage (e.g. Early Stage, Series A, Series B, Late Stage). Moreover, the report highlights all the new investors and funds that have been established in 2019, including their country, description and fund size. All this data is analysed in the full report only.
Exits: Lastly, the exit section highlights the trends in startup exits across the MENA region. This includes an exit evolution, but also all exits that took place in 2019, including the acquired startup, the acquisition amount, and the acquirer. This is analysed to identify key trends by geography, industry and acquirer type, providing a holistic understanding of the exit landscape in MENA.
