Egypt-based delivery service and logistics startup Yalla Fel Sekka (YFS), pioneering the on-demand logistics and dark store management space, has successfully raised $7M in its latest funding round. The Series A round was led by DisruptAD, ADQ’s venture platform.
YFS provides the only reliable and affordable instant delivery service for businesses in urban communities in Egypt - the largest and fastest-growing economy in the MENA region. With its digital platform and diverse fleet of 1,000 drivers of motorcycles and vans, YFS is already pioneering the instant delivery sector for groceries, food, e-commerce consolidators, retailers, and pharmaceutical products in the country. Co-founded by Khashayar Mahdavi and Yasmine Abdel Karim, YFS has become the country's top provider in the field through its experienced ops team and constant efficiency gains, leading to a high utilization rate.
With 3 Mega Deals by Turkey-based delivery network Getir, 1 Mega Deal by Egypt-based logistics startup and micro-crediting service provider Halan, and the highest funding round in Pakistan to date closed by delivery startup Airlift, the Transport & Logistics (T&L) sector across EVMs has captured investor attention in 2021. As recorded in our State of Startup Funding- 2022 Emerging Venture Markets Report, available for download, these major rounds drove the 550% YoY growth in VC funding over 2021, to make T&L the second most-funded industry across EVMs. The rise of Q-commerce and hyperlocalized offerings also paved the way for T&L success in Egypt accounting for more than 20% of all transactions closed in 2021 as recorded in our Egypt 2022 Venture Investment Report. 2 major T&L trends in Egypt were highlighted by major funding rounds in courier connectors and delivery automators including Trella & Bosta as well as Q-commerce and on-demand delivery providers including Rabbit, Egypt’s youngest Q-commerce pioneer.

YFS has expanded its operations in 5 cities including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Mansoura, and Tanta. "We are very pleased to welcome DisruptAD alongside our original seed investors as we see tremendous growth and opportunities ahead. YFS’s accelerating growth in its fleet size, pool of drivers, micro-warehouses, and dark stores is creating a powerful network effect, enabling us to dominate instant delivery in Egypt,” added Khashayar Mahdavi, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of YFS.
YFS will be deploying the new funding to expand its presence in cities across Egypt and the MENA region while continuing to build out its network of hubs and optimize productivity.
