Startup accelerator Changelabs selects 10 Egyptian social impact startups for its 6 week long programme
Changelabs, an impact-centered startup accelerator, launched its first cohort by selecting 10 Egyptian social impact startups for its programme.
Changelabs is being run in partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation incubator, Blom Bank Egypt, Amazon and the Entrepreneurship Academy by SANAD.
The six-week long accelerator programme aims to train and support the selected startups in order to turn them into successful business ventures that can ultimately bring beneficial changes to the Egypt’s economy. The 10 participating startups will benefit from experts, investors, partners, mentors and customers gathered by Changelabs, and will have the opportunity to receive up to EGP2.5 million (US$150,000) in funding.
The 10 startups selected to take part are Youspital, Lendor, OTO Courses, Nash2, Cyyann, Presto, Proteinea, VLaby (Virtual Labs Platform), Well.Fit.Go and وأبو العُرّيف.
Karim Samra, the founder of Changelabs, said: “We believe in unlocking potential and Egypt is a mine of fresh ideas, passionate youth and opportunities for real impact that is the cornerstone of Changelabs mission in the region. Egypt’s youth are an integral part of that mission.”
According to Disrupt Africa, Changelabs has been very successful with its previous programmes related to social impact startups in Boston, Beirut, London and Osaka.
