Meet Flat6Labs Cairo’s Spring 2020 cycle startups
Flat6Labs Cairo, a startup accelerator in Egypt that supports and encourages entrepreneurs throughout the critical first steps of development, is proudly graduating a new batch of outstanding startups that are going to present their businesses online to hundreds of registered attendees during Spring 2020 Demo Day. This will take place on Wednesday, June 24th, at 5PM Cairo time/3PM GMT.
Four months ago, Flat6Labs Cairo welcomed a new batch of startups to the Spring 2020 Cycle of their flagship accelerator program. The Spring 2020 cycle consists of eight innovative startups in the industries of Fintech, E-commerce, Logistics, SaaS, Artificial Intelligence, on-demand car services, Freelance Marketplace, and Bio-materials. Each of these startups offers solutions for issues that affect Egyptian markets, but also address fundamental obstacles present in each of these industries globally.
This cycle marked the beginning of a shift for the program from the physical to the virtual under the precedence of COVID-19 lockdown. The swift and successful transition of all cycle activities online, including one-on-one meetings, training, pitch nights, and program events has demonstrated a strong determination by the startups, as well as the ecosystem at large to adapt to the new normal.
Albert Malaty, Flat6Labs Cairo’s Managing Director says, “I have seen how our startups have transitioned their businesses, seamlessly, online. I am looking forward to telling you more about their journey, so I highly encourage you to register for our Spring 2020 Demo Day to see for yourselves.”
The Flat6Labs Cairo Accelerator Program delivers a 4-month curriculum for seed-stage startups that offers 160+ hours of hands-on training & coaching, strategic mentorship from prominent figures of the international ecosystem, and a creative workplace exclusively for cycle startups. After the 4 months of the program, the graduated startups remain a part of the Flat6Labs Cairo community with access to resources, support, and guidance long after Demo Day.
In 2017, Flat6Labs Cairo partnered up with four anchor investors, the IFC, EAEF, MSME and Egypt Ventures, as limited partners, to launch a new phase of the Flat6Labs Cairo Accelerator Program aiming to fund 100+ startups in the span of 5 years, with a focus on tech-enabled solutions. Flat6Labs Cairo has so far groomed and funded 106 startups - including “legacy” startups that have graduated from the program since its launch in 2011. Flat6Labs is now a prominent member of the Middle East and North Africa’s ecosystem, having launched separate programs in Beirut, Bahrain, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, and Tunis.
All Spring 2020 cycle startups have technology at their core and ready to showcase their products to potential investors, media, and the larger business community on Demo Day. You can register to enjoy the digital Demo Day experience.
