Mama ME, a UAE based social impact app for moms to connect, has received a Seed investment from Flat6Labs Bahrain.

Established in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Founder Sumayya Sarwar realised there wasn’t a single free to use app that helped support Moms to connect safely, ask questions about motherhood and establish connections with neighbours to arrange playdates and coffee mornings. The women only platform supports pregnant women and moms to find like minded women nearby, be part of a wider community and ask questions and talk about experiences through the motherhood journey and find crucial support for their mental health.

Sumayya Sarwar, co-founder and CEO, commented “The mom community has really come together to support one another this past year. I am grateful that Mama ME can provide a platform that is safe, welcoming and judgement free to all the mothers out there. Maternal mental health is a crucial aspect of all mothers' lives and the team at Mama ME wants to be there to support every woman.”

Saleh Abbas, Managing Director of Flat6Labs in Bahrain, added: “Flat6Labs is delighted to have MamaME as part of our 7th cohort in Bahrain, alongside a group of innovative and fast-growing startups. Through our program, these startups will benefit from world-class training, mentoring and coaching that will propel their growth over the next few months. We look forward to charting the progress of MamaME along its promising entrepreneurial journey.”

Mama ME will use its newly received investment to further develop its technology to provide more services for its users and expand its reach across the MENA region.
