Maison De Joelle Bahrain Delivered Glam Workshop at Bahrain Fashion Incubator
Bahrain Fashion Incubator (BFI), the first incubator and accelerator in the MENA region to provide solutions for fashion startups, collaborated with Maison De Joelle Bahrain delivering a Glam Workshop for the Dilmun Star participants. This workshop is part of the pre-incubation program held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism. It combines fashion design knowledge and entrepreneurship training preparing aspiring fashion designers to establish their fashion brands. Maison De Joelle is the Beauty Sponsor for the Dilmun Star program, and it is a luxury chain of salons founded by businesswoman, Joelle Mardinian, who opened a branch in Bahrain on November 26, 2018. The salon provides services that include hairstyling, haircuts, manicure and pedicures, facials, cleansing and more.
In October of 2019, BFI signed an MoU with Maison De Joelle that serves as the foundation for cooperation between BFI and Maison De Joelle Bahrain as the beauty salon begins to support the journey of fashion startups in Bahrain. The Dilmun Star journey gives all 19 participants practical training in fashion design and entrepreneurship with the goal of preparing them to establish their fashion brands upon their completion of the 9 months program which will end in June 2020.
Ms. Hakima Saati, a professional makeup artist from Maison De Joelle Bahrain gave the Glam Workshop for Dilmun Star participants. In this interactive session, participants were introduced to the importance of applying appropriate makeup for their look book and collection. During the workshop, participants learned more about choosing makeup for a photoshoot based on their inspiration. They got a step by step instruction and live demonstration on how to create a day and night make-up look and the tips and tricks of makeup.
In addition to the Glam Workshop and for the upcoming few months, Maison De Joelle Bahrain will prepare the models’ make-up and hair look for the look book photoshoot and the Graduation Ceremony where a fashion show takes place and three winners are announced.
Mrs. Jalila Aarab, CEO and Founder of BFI commented on the workshop: “BFI would like to thank Maison De Joelle Bahrain for delivering a successful professional workshop to the future fashion entrepreneurs in our Dilmun Star program. We are happy that our participants were able to receive important knowledge on selecting the right makeup for the models which influences the story of the collection that is presented to the customers. Our vision is to create a network of partnerships within the ecosystem that believe in our mission to uplift the skills and knowledge of fashion designers and ultimately establish sustainable businesses that are able to compete in the global market. Thank you Maison De Joelle Bahrain for believing in our vision and joining us in this journey!”
Ms. Rabab Hassan, Territory Sales Manager of Maison De Joelle Bahrain stated: “Maison De Joelle Bahrain believes in giving back to the community and with our collaboration with BFI, we are happy to support aspiring fashion designers. It was our pleasure to deliver this workshop that is highly valuable to every fashion designer. This is only a start as we believe we can be part of an entrepreneurship ecosystem that is centered around the fashion sector in Bahrain. We are looking forward to working with BFI more in the next few months as they get closer to producing the capsule collections for Dilmun Star and show them on the fashion runway in June!"
