Khalifa Fund's Tajribty Forum to Help Entrepreneurship Thrive in Tourism Industry
The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) recently organised the Tajribty Forum, aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial opportunities pertaining to the tourism sector in the region.
The forum was organised at the Zayed University in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism and the Department of Economic Development. The forum aimed to provide a communication opportunity to different stakeholders of the tourism industry. The key entities involved in the forum were also being directly funded by the Fund, which included professionals within the tourism sector of the UAE and the Fund’s strategic partners.
KFED seeks to promote better communication and engagement between the entrepreneurs of the country so that each participant can benefit from the experiences of others. Mouza Al Nasri, Acting Chief Executive Officer, KFED, recently stated that the forum highlighted the tourism sector’s projects and supported the efforts of entrepreneurs to add essential value to the development of the industry. The owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local and strategic partners of the Fund had gathered to interact in a one-to-one communication. This intermingling allows the small and medium enterprises to help grow in an ecosystem strictly driven by competitiveness.
By organising the event, the Fund was advocating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in which such enterprises could thrive by allowing innovative ideas to be supported in the field of tourism. The event was also geared towards attracting more potential tourists to Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The CEO of the Fund highlighted that it was the commitment of the organisation to let freelancing and other creative activities flourish among the Emiratis who can extract considerable motivation from events such as this Forum.
During the event, a ‘lessons learned’ initiative was showcased to the audience, which highlighted the reality and the future of the tourism sector in the UAE. Ali Al Saloom, Cultural Expert and TV Presenter of the famous ‘Doroub’ program shared his personal experiences in traveling around the world with the entrepreneurs who participated in the forum and mentioned the places which left a lasting mark on him.
Moreover, Khalifa Al Huwaiti, Senior Manager of Entrepreneurship Development, KFED, stressed the prestigious status of the UAE as a distinctive and auspicious spot that ranks favorably well within the global tourism rankings. He emphasised the role of entrepreneurship in putting the UAE in such a coveted position and cautioned that only through constant innovation and organic entrepreneurship can the region rise through its ranks.
