ABU DHABI, 25th March, 2019 (WAM) -- The four winners of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development and startAD’s Ibtikari "My Innovation" programme, which aims to inspire Emiratis to come up with innovative ideas across various fields, recently presented their projects during Ibtikari Demo Day held in conjunction with Angel Rising Investor Education Symposium at New York University Abu Dhabi.
The chosen projects are ‘DirectSchool,’ an interactive smart application that connects school administrators and bus supervisors of multiple schools with the parents of their students; ‘Homz,’ a unique platform for home remodeling and design allowing owners to participate in the renovation process from start to finish; ‘Malena,’ an application enabling users to find and book appointments with the best aesthetic and cosmetic surgeons in the country; and ‘Meet The Locals,’ a majlis (meeting place) for expats and locals to connect, interact, and learn about each other’s cultures.
Mouza Al Nasri, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Khalifa Fund, said, "Khalifa Fund is immensely proud of the Ibtikari winners. Congratulations to them. Apart from presenting their innovative projects, the four also had a chance to meet and engage with successful entrepreneurs and experts during Angel Rising that enabled them to learn more about how to succeed in their fields of interest."
