HelloWorldKids launches self-learning coding plaftorm "HelloCode.me"
AMMAN. 17 Feb. 2019 Yet another promising product by Jordanian company HelloWorldKids, who has announced launching "HelloCode.me", an online learning kids' coding platform using an interactive storytelling approach.
After witnessing a major gap between the world's rapidly changing technical developments and the IT curriculum taught in school across the region, Hanan Khader decided to take matters into her own hands and thus established HelloWorldKids, a company that now provides schools with training and curriculum to effectively teach students ages 6 – 12 computer and mobile programming, coding skills and analytical thinking
HelloWorldKids' latest product takes coding to the next level. HelloCode is a simplified online platform providing an interactive learning experience for children to self-learn coding, practice problem solving, and collaborate with each other, share and publish their created/developed projects and innovations with their communities.
HelloCode includes multiple courses in the form of mystery islands (https://youtu.be/ddo9XTp6V4s ) that kids get to explore by viewing different episodes followed and by solving challenging coding questions at the end of each episode to make it to the next level.
"The engagement with HelloCode's characters along with the creatively-designed episodes and exciting activities involved, shapes a comprehensive learning environment that introduces kids to a set of crucial life-skills such as problem solving, computational and cognitive thinking, logical reasoning and creativity, all while having fun!", says Hanan Khader.
The business model of HelloCode is a B2B and B2C; where schools can subscribe directly to the platform for the use of both teachers and students, and on the other hand, parents can subscribe their children directly to the platform so they get to enjoy a personalized interactive and gamified learning experience and engage with other children in a safe collaborative environment.
After being selected to join Endeavor's global network earlier this year, HelloWorldKids has been directed into forming an advisory board, who has helped shape HelloCode's vision and strategic direction. "When developing our content, we think from a pedagogical perspective. We always search for ways to provide learning with experiences related to social impact. This way, we don’t only build problem solving and critical thinking skills, but we also focus on building a sense of citizenship and social responsibility", comments Hanan.
It’s worth mentioning that Hello World Kids has received many local, regional and global awards and recognitions, such as Cartier Women Initiative Award 2018, Queen Rania Award for Entrepreneurship in Education, and has been ranked among top 10 global projects in The UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa ICT in Education Prize.
