Global Ventures grows team with new Operating Partner, Said Murad, former COO of Jamalon and CEO of Groupon UAE
Global Ventures is delighted to welcome a new member to the team, Operating Partner Said Murad, an accomplished professional with over 13 years of comprehensive and deep experience in leadership, business development and operational optimization across different industries.
Said comes from his role as COO of the e-commerce platform, Jamalon, where he led the company’s operational optimization efforts and played a pivotal role in helping the company raise its series B round. Prior to that, he led the security services business and EFS’s activities in Jordan at EFS Facilities Services as a COO.
He was also formerly the CEO of Groupon in the UAE where he was responsible for managing and sustainably growing Groupon’s Local, Goods and Travel business lines’ revenue across the UAE through the acquisition of new merchants and developing strategic partnerships across the country.
Said’s hands-on operational experience is enhanced through his previous experience as a strategy consultant at Deloitte and a private equity investor at Dubai International Capital, Jordan Dubai Capital and Abraaj Capital. He also worked on the strategic restructuring at SHUAA Capital between 2009 and 2011. Said holds an MBA from INSEAD.
