Tools for Start-Ups:

Here are some of the tools featured in MAGNiTT’s Tool Kit directory. Our mission is to help Start-Ups in the MENA region, and we hope that you will find these tools useful to help you build and grow your start-up.
MAGNiTT is a start-up for start-ups so if there’s any service provider, or any tool that is a “must-have” let us know and we’ll share it with all the other start-ups in the region.

1. Don’t get distracted by smartphone notifications

 

Smartphones are amazing these days, except when your phone starts blinking, buzzing, and bleeping every few seconds while you are working on your computer. Pushbullet displays a notification right on your computer screen so that you can quickly see who’s calling, what the sms or WhattsApp you just received is.

2. Keep track of who paid what


 

During the early stages of a start-up, before you set up your accounting system, it’s mayhem for sorting through who paid what for whom. Keeping track of all those expenses can create difficulties between partners, co-founders, or even friends. We’ve all been there before, and it gets very uncomfortable when everybody is strapped for cash.

 

Splitwise makes it easy to split bills with friends and family. Organize all your shared expenses and IOUs in one place, so that everyone can see who they owe. Whether you are sharing a ski vacation, splitting rent with roommates, or owe someone for lunch, Splitwise makes life easier. Data is strored “in the cloud,” so that you can access it anywhere: on iPhone, Android, or on your computer.

3. QuickBooks Intuit: Accounting software

Some products need no introduction; this is one of them.


 

 

Possibly the best accounting software for small businesses (and small is a very relative notion). Once you’re hooked you’ll still be running this software in 10 years time!

4. Xero: Accounting Software

You don’t have to go mainstream to get excellent products. Xero is a complete accounting system built in the cloud, on the cloud, for small companies that like to have that non-accountant feel to running their business. It isn’t as accountant friendly as other systems out there but it compensates by having a really easy interface and reporting system.
