E-commerce platform Noon.com looks to transform the SME business, helping them reach new online audiences
Founded by Mohamed Alabbar, Noon.com is the Middle East’s homegrown digital marketplace.
The e-commerce platform has launched its operations in Saudi Arabia and in the United Arab Emirates in 2017, looking to support the business of SMEs by helping sellers in KSA deliver their products across the country and give them access to a larger marketplace.
In an event that took place in Riyadh, Noon.com gathered Saudi SME businesses and entrepreneurs, celebrating its first seller event.
Mr. Alabbar led a panel discussion and specified that Noon.com was first of all established to enable Saudi businesses to tap into the fast growing online marketplace.
“More Saudis are investing in their own businesses – and creating inspiring success stories. A founding objective of noon has been to catalyse the growth of National businesses by offering a platform that provides them easy access to the larger marketplace.
“Trading is in our blood. Our forefathers were traders. E-commerce will also be in our blood. noon.com is a gift to the people of the region, a way of reclaiming our rich trading history for now and tomorrow.” said Alabbar.
The event highlighted Noon.com’s efforts towards supporting small and medium businesses and distributors, including the mentoring and training aiming at taking enterprises to the next level. Additionally, a number of Saudi sellers displayed their journey on noon.com, demonstrating how KSA businesses can freely join the noon.com ecosystem and flourish online.
